Welcome Caregivers

At MHV, the School Council comprises dedicated parents and caregivers who work together to support students and families. Our primary goal is to enhance the educational experience of our children by providing opportunities for parent involvement and advocating for policies and practices that promote the well-being of our children.

In Alberta, the government mandates that each school board operates a School Council by law. Established School Councils play a vital role in developing, maintaining, and reflecting the school’s culture, representing the caregiver voice in the school community, and focusing on the best interests of all students. They consider the perspectives of all school stakeholders, plan engagement activities that align with the school’s plan, and cultivate a sense of community.

We invite you to participate in the School Council and collaborate with us to create a vibrant and inclusive community that supports our children’s growth and development. By engaging in discussions on topics such as policies, the school education plan, the school budget, the assurance framework, and more, we can make a significant impact on our local school’s decision-making processes and ultimately benefit our children’s education.

Sincerely,

The Mills Haven Elementary School Council
